Tread Perilously
Tread Who Perilously: Episode 1

Erik and Justin continue their exploration of television with an excursion into the lesser episodes of that sci-fi stalwart, "Doctor Who." Week one introduces Justin to the Jon Pertwee Doctor as they watch "Day of the Daleks," the TV version of a Doctor Who novelization Justin read as a pre-teen. The 70s are on display as the mustaches denote rank, greasy captains steal wine and the Daleks take too many pauses. Time paradoxes are discussed and Justin learns some of his preconceptions of the show are wrong.

Oh, and a stated pacifist shoots an Ogron.

An Axe to Grind: Episode 8

Justin and Erik take on Lifetime’s “The Lizzie Borden Chronicles” in a weekly podcast about murder, bloodspray and costume porn. Week eight sees Emma arriving at Winterfell where she becomes the apple of Lady Stark's eye. Oh, you think we're kidding, don't you? Lizzie has short meetings with the Pinkertons and Lady Stark. Emma considers confessing her sins and one connection is severed, hopefully setting up season two.

You hear us, Lifetime? There better be a season two.

An Axe to Grind: Episode 7

Justin and Erik take on Lifetime’s “The Lizzie Borden Chronicles” in a weekly podcast about murder, bloodspray and costume porn. Week seven introduces the Grimke sisters: schoolteacher Annabelle and her catatonic sister Lenore. The show receives a new status quo that leaves behind the cheerful reality of Fall River for the madness of Cumberland, Maine. Oh, but don't those sisters look almost exactly like the Bordens? Early psychiatrists and TMZ reporters threaten Lizzie's retirement. Random people die and Frank Sobotka from The Wire arrives to take the place of Cole Hauser.

And we might've found a connection to House Bolton.

An Axe to Grind: Episode 6

Justin and Erik take on Lifetime’s “The Lizzie Borden Chronicles” in a weekly podcast about murder, bloodspray and costume porn. Week six sees the resolution of the majority the plotlines ... almost as though this was meant to be the season finale. But that can't be right, there are two more episodes to go. A favorite character is eulogized while we postulated what a Lifetime Avengers would look like. Erik issues a correction about Gregg Henry and Justin maintains his favorite kill of the week.

Oh, also, there was some big TallShip stuff, too.

An Axe to Grind: Episode 5

Justin and Erik take on Lifetime’s “The Lizzie Borden Chronicles” in a weekly podcast about murder, bloodspray and costume porn. Week five sees the men take center stage as TallCop asks a bold question of Emma, Cole Hauser finally becomes worthy of his own show and the Marshal stars in a subplot we just had to call "No Patience for Skipjack." We debate the kill of the week and update the status of Emma's dead baby while the Inn gets some remodeling.

Oh, but Skipjack is still our favorite.

Week four presents the first episode not centered on Lizzie, but on Burlesque Cinderella's search for the truth and Cole Hauser's immunity to getting hit by trains. Skipjack continues his rise along the criminal ladder despite being unable to defend himself. Lizzie finds a new pet while #TallShip gets some of its most thrilling and frustrating moments so far.

Oh, and a Kill of the Week that Justin considers his favorite.

An Axe to Grind: Episode 3

Justin and Erik take on Lifetime’s “The Lizzie Borden Chronicles” in a weekly podcast about murder, bloodspray and costume porn. Week three sees two (or three?) kills of the week for the price of one. Lizzie's backstory appears to be written by Nick Cave and Skipjack sleazes his way into Erik's and Justin's hearts. The show takes a side trip into Peaky Blinders and we ship Cole Hauser/Mrs. InnKeeper hard.

But the OTP is Emma Borden and TallCop.
